Me too! Not just for me but also for Anthony. He really needs the exposure here as we never hear his name.

Me too. I used to say after the first tour when we just 'fell off' the schedule I'd believe it when I had the tickets in my hand - well that's long gone and now I guess I believe it when the lights go down - so many refunds. th_acwacko.gif

You'd think trucks would have been arranged a long time before now - but the last time I looked there were still good seats available and maybe they needed the two concerts to pay expenses. Publicity was minimal. Nobody at my hairdresser knew about it last Friday and they're people who talk about music all the time and go to shows even interstate. One of them was going to lend me lots of Whitney Houston stuff as she's a big fan - and she didn't know about it.

I knew you'd be 'unhappy' to say the least. I've seen him since you did, but I have to break the habit of going interstate. It makes for very expensive concerts!

It's just ridiculous that they didn't plan and book all the necessary trucks/equipment BEFORE taking our money and getting us excited!

Its been almost 2 years now that Anthony's been here (supporting Celine Dion in April 08) and like you say Eryl, it's just too expensive to travel interstate to see him all the time. Although if (when.. th_anthony_thumbdown.gif ) Perth gets left off the next national tour, I will probably make the trip to Sydney to see him... I'm having withdrawals here!!

And I agree, the advertising for this has been pretty much non existant!! I was planning on taking my mum, and Matt's mum but when I mentioned it initially they didnt have a clue she was even coming. Every single person I'd told that I was going were surprised that they didnt know about it either. Plus I havent seen/heard anything on the tv/radio/internet about this. Bad form on the advertisers part I think..

Bev are u still going to the one in Hunter Valley? Did u manage to get tickets?

The not enough trucks' thing is so obviously an excuse...very poor on the promoters part I think. So sorry for the Perthies who were looking forward to the show. AC-Sad.gif

Believe me when I say I feel your pain...apart from a one song apperance at Beaconsfield we haven't had Anthony here since 2005. It's like only the mainland eastern seaboard states matter. th_accry.gif

Livie I am so very very sorry I didn't realise CU was OK again I hadn't been able to get onto it. AC-Sad.gif

Here is my review from Acer Arena in Sydney. Anthony sang two new songs from his new album and they are both absolutley beautiful. I'll also post my review from Hope Estate concert in The Hunter Valley.

Our beautiful gorgeous ANTHONY was just absolutely sensational last night. wub.gif wub.gif

I honestly think Anthony's voice just keeps getting better and better all the time. wub.gif Anthony sings with such raw emotion straight from his heart and soul and at other times has so much fun with the audience he's just the ultimate performer such an absolute joy to watch. He is so relaxed he really owns the stage and he hits the high notes with such ease and perfection.

I absolutely LOVED the two new songs " I'll Be The One " and " My All " and I'm so thrilled they will be on Anthony's new album. wub.gif wub.gif Maybe its the romantic in me but I felt a bit of Tim in them. wub.gif wub.gif They made me just long for the album even more. I know we are in for such a treat when Anthony's new album is released. wub.gif

Anthony looked absolutely gorgeous stunning ( as always ) as well as singing and performing so perfectly. wub.gif I loved his song he did with Susie. I LOVE watching the beautiful relationship between Anthony and Susie when they sing together. Anthony's dancing was so great he's getting better and better all the time.

I agree that last nights rendition of " The Prayer " was right up there with his very very best version of this beautiful and my very very favourite song of all time. The crowd went crazy when they realised what Anthony was going to sing. Anthony is just swelled up with so much PRIDE in you. wub.gif

I absolutley LOVED Go The Distance and the way Anthony held the long notes. I have really loved this song since Anthony sang it at " Songs from the Movies " so was so delighted to hear him sing it again. Spectacular. wub.gif

I also LOVED " Horses " and the way Anthony got the crowd participation with it. wub.gif As I have said before a song I never even liked until I heard Anthony sing it and now I really really love it. wub.gif

I have always loved " Obvious " and it was such a joy to hear that equisite voice sing it again last night.

" Rain " another of my all time favourites and as always Anthony had the crowd singing along with him.

Anthony has so much natural talent and charisma and energy and the crowd ( including me ) just loved him.

I also felt "Can You feel It " was fantastic and a great number to finish his set with. Anthony was just so relaxed and natural on stage he was such a joy to watch. I wished he could just go on and on. Nine songs was just not enough when it comes to OUR beautiful ANTHONY. He always leaves you longing for more.

I didn't realise that David Champion was at the concert but then I don't know what he looks like but I'm so glad that he was so he could see just how fabulous Anthony performed. I'm sure he was as PROUD of Anthony as we were.

Anthony's band was terrific and have such a great rapore with each other. It was lovely Anthony announced that Mark Amato was a new dad. Congratulations Mark and his wife.

Whitney's first three songs were good more dance like songs. She was lovely with the crowd and very proud of her daughter.

Whitney's dancers were incredable and her band was also really great. It was a lovely moment when Whitney announced one of her dancers had something to say. They bought his girlfriend of three years up on stage and he prosposed to her. wub.gif

Thank You so very very much Jan Di Christine and Margaret for your beautiful special company it was as always so exciting and lovely to see you all again. It was also lovely to meet Barbara for the first time and see Lena again.

Sorry I didn't get back from Sydney untill today. Jan and I stayed overnight.

Everyone still to see Whitney's Special Guest OUR beautiful ANTHONY is really in for a wonderful never to be forgotten treat. I know you are really going to LOVE Anthony's amazing set and performance.

Tim you were so right Anthony was sensational. wub.gif
Here is a full list of the songs Anthony sang.

1. Go The Distance
2. Obvious
3. I'll be The One ( Anthony's new song from his new album )
4. The Prayer
5. Alone ( Anthony sang this with the beautiful Susie Ohearn )
6. My All ( Anthony's other beautiful new song from his new album )
7. Horses
8. Rain
9. Can You feel It ( a great lively song to end on )

He also sang " I Want You "at his Brisbane concert but didn't sing it at Acer Arena or Hope Estate.

Favourite Song: The Prayer

I have just got back home from Hope Estate and another incredable beautiful Anthony night with my grandson Trent wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif

Haven't had a chance to read everything yet but OUR beautiful gorgeous ANTHONY was just so fabulous and spectacular once again tonight. Trent my grandson was so very very excited to be going to see Anthony he hasn't seen Anthony live for a long time now and he kept commenting on just how brilliant Anthony was even so much better than he could remember. wub.gif He said he wished Anthony's set would just keep going on and on ( Don't we all AC-Smile.gif )

I had a lovely time comming home on the bus tonight because people all around me were raving about how wonderful talented and gorgeous Anthony is and how much they loved all his songs. Many liked Mark's voice but didn't think he has the personality and stage presence that Anthony has. They also loved that Anthony is cheeky and loves to joke and talk to the crowd. I really enjoyed talking about him ( you know me ) and made sure they all knew he has a new album out very soon.

Anthony had a black suit on tonight with a checked shirt and a silver tie. He looked absolutely gorgeous as always. He didn't go away for a change of clothes this time he just said Susie was going to sing and he would just sit down He took his jacket off while Susie was singing and then joined in with her. They were as usual so beautiful singing together and a lot of people commented on that as well.

Where I was Anthony was very well loved and received by the crowd. They really cheered for him. I cheered extra loud for you all as well. They all loved The Prayer as always but Horses was another one they all really raved about on the way home in the bus. They also loved " I'll Be The One " and " My All " Also quite a few mentioned how beautiful " Go The Distance " was and how he held that beautiful long note.

Anthony sang nine songs which were the same nine he sang at Acer Arena. We didn't get the extra one at Hope Estate either that he sang in Brisbane. He sang every song with the passion and heavenly beauty as he did at Acer Arena.

When Anthony sang his new song " My All " ( Its just so so beautiful ) he said he loved singing it because it was only the third time he had sung it.

Mark Vincent sang eight songs.
1. This is The Moment

2. Hallahuah

3. Raise Me Up

4. I Did It My Way

5. Memories from Cats

6. Dream the Impossible Dream

7. He didn't say the name of the song and I didn't know it sorry he just started singing it.

8. Nessum Dorma

Please excuse the spelling because I'm not sure how to spell some of them.

The highlight of the night also for me was when Whitney said she had been listening to Anthony and Mark and they were both wonderful singers ( or words like that ) I loved it that Whitney acknowledged Anthony's brilliant talent.

Whitney performed better IMO tonight than she did at Acer Arena ( she commented that it was a most beautiful venue - Outdoors ) it was a really beautiful night. Whitney was very well received I thought at Hope Estate. She bought a little girl up onto the stage ( who reminded her of her daughter ) hugged her and introduced her to Bobbie Kristina ( Whitney's daughter ) Krissey Whitney calls her.

--------------------

There are some gorgeous pictures of OUR beautiful ANTHONY from his performance at Acer Arena and he looked absolutley stunning. I'm so sorry I don't know how to post them for you but maybe someone else will post them for you Livie Bev and anyone else who hasn't seen them.

ohh what a feeling im still on a high arrived fairly early got settled in my seat i always tend to get a little nervous for some reason when i know that Anth is about to perform infront of such a big crowd hope that they will enjoy and appreciate his performance but as soon as he hits that first note and gets some cheers and applause it feels wonderful there was a couple seated behind me overheard them saying they didnt know who the support act was as it wasnt listed on the ticket but when Anth came out they seemed pleasently surprised
Anth was superb so proud of him tonight together with Suzie and band they were all awesome loved their duet after the song he commented that suzie had a good set of pipes on her well Mr Callea you aint to bad yourself in that department
Got a good reception when he started singing the Prayer so fab to hear and really got the crowd going with can you feel it loved it perfect choice to end
The 2 new songs were beautiful lovely sentiments in each liked them both but My All was the fav out of the two just before singing this one he mentioned that Tim had come all the way from La just for the concert me thinks this was dedicated to Tim
great to hear Anth live again th_anthony_thumbup.gif

Thank You so very much Anna for your fabulous review of the Melbourne concert. ACHug.gif I have been longing to know how it went with it being Anthony's home town and all. Also Tim comming home from LA to watch his gorgeous man sing. It would have been so special for them both wub.gif wub.gif and I'm really glad you enjoyed it.

Livie I'm so very very sorry that you and Eryl and many others missed seeing OUR beautiful ANTHONY perform in Perth AC-Sad.gif I only hope that after Anthony's new album is released ( which hearing his two gorgeous new songs from his new album has only made me long for it all the more ) he will include Perth and also Tasmania and even New Zealand would be great in his tour.

I really hope you all get to see him before too long. He really is even more amazing and magical than ever. I KNOW you will really love his performances. wub.gif wub.gif

Thank you both for the beautiful reviews.

I didn't finally give in that I wouldn't see him on this tour until the Adelaide concert started. It's the first time I've missed something big he's done. th_acwacko.gif

But having details like your reviews are the enxt best thing. I always want to see how the audience responds to him as well as see him too of course.

Anna, I get so excited I have to make notes so I can tell people about it. I was even nervous when I was trying to follow through mobile phone and Twitter! Kind friends made sure I heard the new songs which I already absolutely love. I loved the fact the instruments seemed subdued - I always like what Mark Amato does with him and it lets his voice shine, as it should. I worry especially in these big events because there's so much walking in and out, not to mention drinking. I was stunned to learn that you could even take fish and chips in to ACER arena. th_acwacko.gif

As for Perth, I've now actually lost count of the times I not only expected to see him but actually had the tickets. I won't ever count on anything for us until I'm there and he comes on stage. AC-LOL.gif

As I said in the other thread, I was thinking last night while Melbourne had its terrrible weather and road-blocks that we had the perfect night for an outdoor concert.

You know Eryl you talking about walking in and out and drinking at these big events I did something at Hope Estate that I have never done before and I think Trent was quite shocked. blush.gif

Trent and I were sitting at the end of the row and people would drink their glasses of wine and then keep excusing themselves to get past you to go and get more wine. I ended up saying to the people who were constantly comming past us and apologising for it. I said " I don't mind you comming past me all the time when Mark Vincent was on ( I did but I didn't want to sound too terrible ) if we can agree that you don't come past us during any of Anthony's songs. AC-Yeah.gif They looked at me but did agree and they only came past once after Anthony had finished " Obvious " and before he started singing his new song " I'll be the One " when they returned they stood at the end of the row just listening to Anthony until Anthony had finished singing " The Prayer " and then when they sat down they told us just how absolutely gorgeous it was and what a beautiful voice Anthony had. I didn't mind too much when they kept going in and out while Whitney was singing.

It was an absolutely gorgeous night and a beautiful setting but that is the only disadvantage of outdoor concerts people do wander in and out a lot more because they are drinking.

Eryl that would have been so annoying you having such beautiful weather in Perth the night the concert would have been on and the weather was so terrible in Melbourne. I would love to know who the support act was for the second Melbourne concert.
